Vancouver is the largest city in Metro-Vancouver or Lower Mainland, in the province of British Columbia. The city benefits from a fair weather climate and is surrounded by ocean on 3 sides creating multiple beaches including Kitsilano, Jericho, Locarno Beaches and Spanish Banks. Some of Vancouver’s most noteable landmarks are the famous Stanley Park, Granville Island on Falls Creek, as well as the green belt of the endowment lands just off the University of British Columbia and Kitsilano. Vancouver, along with Whistler, has been awarded host city of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympics Winter Games and are proud fans of the Vancouver Canucks hockey and BC Lions football teams.
