Our Policies
All of the policies described below are in place to ensure the safety and quality of your Fabutan experience.
The 24-Hour Policy
At Fabutan, we believe in smart tanning. The 24-Hour Policy was established to help you maximize the benefit and minimize the risk of too much or too little UV exposure. When scheduling your next visit, please assist us by ensuring it has been at least 24 hours since your last tanning session.
Cancellation Policy
As a courtesy to all Fabutan customers, Fabutan requires a minimum of two hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Failure to do so will result in a $4 charge.
Age Requirements
For liability reasons, children under the age of 12 cannot be left unattended and must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult.
Under no circumstances are children permitted in the tanning rooms.
Fabutan locations in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba; any person under 18 years of age is not permitted to use UV tanning equipment without a medical prescription.
Fabutan locations in Ontario & Alberta; any person under 18 years of age is not permitted to use UV tanning equipment.
Indoor Tanning Oils & Lotions Only
Please ensure that your tanning lotions/oils are formulated for indoor tanning as some outdoor products:
- May cause photosensitivity
- May decrease tanning efficiency
- May damage the acrylics on the tanning bed
A Fabutan CEO is always available to answer any questions you may have about the value of using specially formulated indoor tanning lotions. Do not hesitate to ask us!
Eye Protection is Essential
Although they may seem like a nuisance, the goggles worn while tanning serve a very important purpose; they protect your cornea and retina from UV light damage that can lead to cataracts. The skin that makes up your eyelids offers almost no protection against UV light, so it does not make a lot of sense to lie in a tanning bed without tanning goggles! The indoor tanning eyewear that Fabutan provides stops 99% of UVB light and 99.9% of UVA light, allowing only visible light through so you can see while you tan.
Not using proper eye protection may also result in short term effects such as tired and itchy eyes, headaches and loss of night vision. You should never be in a tanning bed without eye protection, and be sure to purchase your own pair of tanning goggles to avoid the risk of easily transmitted infections like pink-eye.
Privacy Policy
At Fabutan, we value our relationship with you. We understand the importance you place on your privacy and the security of the information that personally identifies you. We do not collect personal information about you unless you specifically and knowingly provide such information to us. We strive to keep your information safe and to use it properly – because it’s important to you, and it’s the right thing to do.
How We Collect Your Personal Information
Whether we collect your personal information on paper, by phone or through other channels, we will provide you with an explanation of how we intend to use your personal information.
To serve our customers better, we may combine information given to us in our studios with any information you share with us about product interests. This information, combined with publicly available demographic information is used to enhance and personalize shopping experiences and to notify customers about products, services, contests and promotions that may be of interest.
How We Use Your Personal Information
We use your customer information to better understand customer preferences and provide you with better service, which includes sending you updates about our products and services and to administer our business.
We do not sell, rent or lease your personal information to others.
Our policy is to permit only authorized employees, who are trained in the proper handling of personal information, to have access to it.
We will not send you anything that you do not sign up for yourself.

We believe in providing you with choices about how we use your personal information. Our policy is to use your personal information as specified at the time we collected it from you.

Please note that such request may take up to thirty (30) days to become effective. In addition, if you ask us to remove your name and address from our email or posting mailing lists, we will maintain your name in a “do not mail” file to ensure that we can honor your request.

We will occasionally make updates to this privacy policy. When we do, we will also revise the “last updated” date at the top of the privacy statement. For material changes to this statement, we will notify you by posting the revised policy on this website.
