Your first Fabutan tanning session
Your first tan at Fabutan is complimentary to give you the opportunity to try us out before making a purchase. Here is what you can expect from your first tanning experience:
When you arrive, we will ask you to fill out a consent form with some questions about you and your skin type. A Fabutan CEO will then do a skin analysis to determine your exposure time and create a recommended schedule. They will explain how UV light works, how your skin tans and answer any questions you may have about tanning.
A Fabutan CEO will then take you to a tanning room, show you how to use the tanning bed and ensure that you are equipped with the following:
- Protective Eyewear – Since your eyelids provide almost no protection against UV light, protective eyewear is mandatory. Tanning goggles can be purchased for as little as $2 at the reception desk.
- Indoor Tanning Lotion - Your skin tans more effectively when it is moisturized with the right tanning lotion. These can be purchased once you arrive in sample or regular sizes.
- Towel - We provide a towel for your convenience and to cover up areas not normally exposed to UV light.
When you are comfortable with all of the information your Fabutan CEO has provided, they will leave you alone in the room and give you about three minutes to remove your clothing, apply your lotion and get into the tanning bed. The tanning bed is controlled from the lobby and will start automatically. Please let the staff members know if you require additional time.
To listen to music while you tan, turn on the radio or insert a CD. Just leave the case out by your clothes so you will not forget it when you leave.
Whether you choose to tan in the nude, in a bathing suit or in your undergarments is totally up to you. However, we recommend limiting exposure to areas not regularly exposed to the sun.
Once you are ready, lie down in the bed with your protective eyewear on and pull the top of the tanning bed toward you. Now it is time to relax by falling asleep, listening to music or just taking the time to enjoy the warmth of the experience. Once your session is over, your bed will shut off automatically.
With your tanning session finished you can now get dressed, collect your things and schedule your next appointment. If you would like to redo your hair or require more time, please move your belongings into the bathroom. This will give the Fabutan CEOs time to sanitize the room and ensure other customers are able to enjoy their tanning appointment on time.
